27 January Observations - Server Remains Down

Right ascension 5 hours, 33 minutes, 45 seconds
Declination 26 degrees, 44' 4"
Magnitude -0.7
Distance from Earth: 0.749 AU
My observations are normally made between 9:00 and 10:00. Mars has recently been almost overhead at those times. Driving home tonight, with the sky a dark blue, I saw Sirius appear. When I got home, I noticed that Mars was still bright enough to be visible in the dark blue sky. With my tripod the way it is, I have been having trouble keeping the focus with the telescope pointed almost straight up. So, tonight, I decided to try a "blue sky" observation and I met with good results. I got a good, steady image in the telescope, with some surface detail just still barely visible.

Regards,
Mycroft
