23 January Observations

Right ascension 5 hours, 34 minutes, 53 seconds
Declination 26 degrees, 48' 2"
Magnitude -0.8
Distance from Earth: 0.720 AU
With damage to the tripod, it is now difficult to make observations due to the vibration of the telescope. Even so, I doubt if much as been lost. Mars is now much dimmer and I am surprised at the degree of the change. Very little surface detail is visible at all, which is why I think the telescope problem is really not costing my observations so much. Still, in a way, Mars has become like an old friend. Dimming though it is, the planet is still easily recognizable.
